The last of your slides is so very true - Our world is changing! And we, as educators, must be informed, aware, and ready to learn how to deal with the changes.
It is so unsettling to know that we actually don't know much about autism even though the numbers are astounding, especially in the state of NJ.
Teaching new arrivals or biligual students we see so many students not get diagnosis with a learning disability. I know that is surprising but because of the system we are in people are quick to think that it may be a language barrier. The truth is that many times it is not the language barrier but that the student has difficulty learning and/or even connecting with others.

Change is definitely necessary!
